Scholarship Help

TangoHelena is committed to providing learning opportunities to people of all ability levels and all income levels.  We try to offer scholarship help to dancers who could not otherwise take our classes and workshops.  We also try to help Helena-area dancers participate in workshops in other Montana communities and even further afield.  We have given away about $3000 in scholarship help over the last two years.

Scholarship Policies:

•  To be eligible for a scholarship, you must have some level of financial need.  We don't ask for tax forms or other documents, but we  do ask you to describe your need.
•  If you are applying for help to attend an event outside of Helena, you must be a resident of the Helena area.
•  We encourage dancers of all experience levels to apply.

The Scholarship Committee is made up of three to four members and is solely responsible for reviewing applications and awarding funds.  Your application will be kept confidential and will only be seen by the committee.  The names of those applying for consideration will not be released, even if they receive an award, in order to protect the applicant's privacy.

The criteria we take into account include the applicant’s financial need, interest/participation level in TangoHelena events, willingness to participate as fully as possible in the event, and willingness to share what you learn with our Helena commmunity.  We may also consider a dancer's experience level, but there is no minimum level required.
